DIRECTIONS TO ROCK HALL FARM IN BOYCE, VIRGINIA

Obtain a map of Virginia.

From Washington D.C., take Route 66 West past Marshall. At one point Route 17 North also tracks I-66. Go until you come to the right exit for Route 17 North, towards Paris (at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountain) - it's an 8 mile beautiful drive along Route 17 North until you come to a light at Route 50.  Turn left onto Route 50 West. Go over the Blue Ridge, down the other side, over the Shenandoah River, then turn right onto Rte. 723 where it indicates Boyce and Millwood. Drive straight through Millwood staying on Rte. 723. You will come to Boyce, a flashing light. Go straight through the intersection. Go another 1.8 miles, and on the left you will see a sign "Rock Hall Farm". Street number 1823. Turn left just after the sign into the farm.  The total distance from Washington D.C. to Boyce is approx. 65 miles.

From Dulles airport, ask your rental car agent to show you how to get to Route 28. Get a good map of Virginia.

Turn onto Route 28 (to the right when exiting east from the airport) in the direction of Route 50. Go approx. 5 miles and turn right onto Route 50 West direction Winchester. Go approx. 40 miles to Middleburg.  Middleburg is a great town worth a visit if you have the time.

From Middleburg : Continue on Route 50 West through Upperville and over the Blue Ridge Mountains. You will cross the Shenandoah River at the bottom of the mountains and shortly thereafter will see a sign which says BOYCE/MILLWOOD and Route 723. Turn right onto Route 723. Go about 3 or 4 miles on the lovely scenic route to and through Millwood, staying on Route 723.  Millwood is very historic and has a great mill. It will be another 3 to 4 miles to the Town of Boyce. After you go over the railroad tracks in Boyce, you will come to a flashing light. (intersection with Route 340).  GO STRAIGHT THROUGH, staying on Route 723.

From the flashing light, go 1.8 miles. On the left you will see a sign "Rock Hall Farm". Immediately after the sign, turn left into the farm, and straight back to the house in the woods (1823), or turn right in the woods to go to the barn (1831).

If arriving from the SOUTH (I-95) : When on I-95 North, take the FREDERICKBURG exit onto ROUTE 17 North, which will eventually run into Route 29 towards WARRENTON. Take the BY-PASS around Warrenton, and exit following ROUTE 17 North. The sign will indicate WINCHESTER. Stay on Rte. 17 North until you come to Interstate 66. Turn left (West) onto I-66, which tracks along with Rte. 17 North, for approx. 5 miles. Exit I-66 onto Rte. 17 North and go 8 miles (beautiful drive) until you come to a red light and Route 50. You will be at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. Turn LEFT onto Route 50, go over the Blue Ridge mountains and follow same instructions above as coming from Middleburg.
