SELLE FRANCAIS SPORT HORSES
FOR SALE AND FOR BREEDING

[Jalisco B (Alme) , ridden by Xavier Leredde]
Selle Francais foundation sire for world-class jumping.
Dedicated to the sale and breeding of Selle Francais sport horses, this site will help you buy a superior show jumper or hunter, or find the right Selle Francais stallion for breeding, or broodmare of your choice. French sport horses have long been known for their superior jumping ability. The mixture of big-boned, solid and calm Normandy mares has been mixed over the decades with well-chosen English thoroughbreds to produce an elegant, poised and athletic animal whose intelligence and willingness will help any rider when negotiating a difficult course. Their renown is world-wide. Our Virginia farm located in Boyce is carrying on these genetics.

The renowned World show-jumping Champion (the only horse in history to be a THREE-TIME consecutive winner - in 1998, 1999 and 2000 - and a Gold Medal winner at the 2004 Athens Olympics), Baloubet du Rouet (by Galoubet [Alme]) is Selle Francais, as is his internationally known half brother Quick Star, also by Galoubet.
They are only two of many such champions, whose genetics run true generation after generation. The famous IBRAHIM line runs through a high percentage of the international show horses on the circuit today - Ibrahim's son ALME, sire of Jalisco B (see photo above) and Galoubet, is an all-time great foundation sire who has indelibly influenced modern day show-jumping and the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses) has traced his line's success around the world.
He is directly represented here on our site via the stallion FRENCHMAN, whose dam, Varsovie Trefle, also here on our farm, is by Alme.
The latest triumphs of the Selle Francais were seen:
in the 2002 World Equestrian Games at Jerez, Spain, when four Selle Francais stallions, three of which descended from the Ibrahim line via Alme and his two sons Jalisco and Elf III, won the Team Gold for France in Show Jumping, with Dollar du Murier (Jalisco B) winning the Individual Silver Medal. The fourth stallion, Diamant de Semilly is a son of Le Tot de Semilly, the second French dominating bloodline for show jumping currently producing world class jumpers (his son Frenchman currently breeding in Canada, is also on this site);
and in the 2004 Athens Olympics, with the French taking the individual gold in show jumping, and the team gold in eventing - with SF horses leading in overall results - only proving again the Selle Francais breed's superiority in both of these disciplines.
All of these lines are represented in our Breeding Stallions page.
